In 9 days I am going to the United States of America. Two weeks in New York City with my good friend Ben, where I will go and see things I’ve seen on television while he’s at work (Johnny-Day-Job) and in the evening he’ll take me to places he thinks are fun. He says:
“I have a deep seated need to prove to you that New York is better in every way than your silly kingdom, mostly through food.”
From New York I will go to Boston MA for the Boston Calling festival. The National, The Walkmen, Ra Ra Riot, Dirty Projectors and Andrew Bird. That’ll do.
After that the plan is looser, my friend Kat will drive me everywhere else for another month before I swing back to NYC and fly home. Unless I get discovered and become the next big star of Broad Way.
My American friends have helped me compile this list of MUST-SEE/DO THINGS/ACTIVITIES. You just let me know what else needs to be added and I’ll just see if I can add it to and then cross it off my list:
go to a house party and drink out of a solo cup
go to philadelphia and eat a cheesesteak
see the world’s largest something
go to 30 Rock
walk around the suburbs
go to white castle and taco bell and wendy’s
drink kool-aid
compare red vines and twizzlers
live in apartment with a gay male friend and a straight female friend
Original Ray’s Pizza
Take in a show on Broad Way
That is a short list.
What else?
I just finished A Farewell to Arms, stormed into the living room and ranted at my parents about the ending.
Then I realised that the exact same thing happened in Silver Linings Playbook.
I didn’t throw it out the window though.
Got no snacks in the house.
omg it’s all grainy and amazing like the stop motion programs of my childhood. I love this so much i could burst!
They do move in herds.
